Clients have a legal obligation to ensure that external contractors
working on their premises operate in a safe way.

Health & Safety

More than ever, there is a need to determine how seriously your external contractors and service providers take health & safety, and to professionally assess the suitability of their arrangements.

With legislation placing an ever-increasing burden on organisations to ensure the health and safety competency of contractors providing services on their premises, it is vital to have a reliable system in place.

Many cabling projects have inherent risks, particularly when working in occupied premises or hazardous environments, such as trip hazards, ladders, removed floor or ceiling tiles - not to mention site specific safety issues or business requirements.

By employing the very best practices, including risk assessments, method statements, tool box talks and the correct use of PPE (personal protective equipment), the identified risks can be planned around, avoided or contained.

We can advise you and help you fulfil your obligations

Our commitment to responsible working practices and the health & safety of our customers, our staff and the general public is endorsed by our exemplary record since 1989.

We are assisted and updated by our consultants, First Business Support, whose advisors are amongst the most experienced, with an infrastructure and resources at our disposal 24/7.

Our procedures and practices are evaluated by Safecontractor, a recognised accreditation scheme that regularly assesses the health & safety competency of contractors and service providers.

CDM - Construction (Design & Management Regulations 2007)

The new CDM regulations came into force on 6 April 2007 and much confusion still exists as to what constitutes a "construction" project and whether the project is notifiable to the HSE (Health & Safety Executive). We can assist with deciding whether CDM applies, and the associated roles and responsibilities.

Working at Height Regulations

In 2005/06 falls from height accounted for 46 fatal accidents at work and around 3,350 major injuries. They remain the single biggest cause of workplace deaths and one of the main causes of major injury.

By employing responsible practices and the use of the correct equipment, much of the associated risks can be eliminated.

Asbestos Awareness

If you own, occupy, manage or have responsibilities for non-domestic premises which may contain asbestos, you will either have a legal duty to manage the risk from this material; or a duty to co-operate with whoever manages that risk.

Many of our personnel have undergone specific Health & Safety training for asbestos awareness, chemical & pharmaceutical environments and working at heights.

If you have an upcoming IT Cabling project and have specific health and safety issues or concerns that you would like to discuss and would like some free, impartial advice, please call one of our consultants.
